'Lest we Forget' is a modern edition of the memoirs and diaries of the first missionary couple to Ibadan in southern Nigeria, it was last published in 1871 under the title, "Seventeen years in the Yoruba country." The book chronicles the sacrifices of a missionary couple in that era (1840 - 1890). Starting with Anna's life in England shortly before her departure to Africa, the book goes on to describe the hardship and adventure of setting up home in Africa, the internecine wars that separated them from home for long periods of time and the challenges of church planting in the heathen culture. The book ends with her finally getting back to England to retire shortly after which the church in Nigeria commiserates with her husband on her home call. The purpose of the book is to rekindle the flame of missionary sacrifice in today's generation of Christians.
