Evaluating outcomes in health and social care
Partnerships continue to be a prominent feature of UK health and social care policy. However, partnerships have not actually been demonstrated to improve service user outcomes as of yet. This book argues that this is a result of the massive challenge faced by UK partnership evaluations, rather than a lack of an impact per se. Evaluating Outcomes in Health and Social Care outlines why the situation is problematic and it proposes that the outcomes of partnerships need to be effectively evaluated so that the concept does not risk losing legitimacy. It sets out useful frameworks and approaches and aids policy makers and practitioners to more effectively evaluate partnerships. The book is fully evidence- and research-based, while still being accessible and applicable to everyday practice.
