This book is issued simultaneously with two parallel translations of it: "Lessons on Finnish Grammar in Finnish" and "Lessons on Finnish Grammar in Russian". The author began to write her lessons for foreigners in about 2000. Her work was called "Lessons in Finnish Grammar" when it came out in 2002 as a third improved issue, and since then that has been sold on the book market. The Finnish and Russian versions came in 2003.

Learning a few words and phrases in Finnish is a good start but not enough. This book is for those who wish and who accept the challenge to understand the rather complex but logical system of the Finnish language. Inside this book you will discover a different and exciting way of learning the written form of the language. Differences between written and spoken are also dealt with. You will start observing the Finnish you read and hear.

In addition to this book, you will only need a dictionary, a notebook and a pen for doing exercises, if you wish. After having read this book carefully, you will soon be able to understand any text in Finnish, with a dictionary in hand, of course, and try to speak Finnish with native Finns.

Finns often cannot explain the rules of their own language to others who might like to learn it. This book will help both Finns and their foreign friends as a reference book.
