Does Finland Look Landwards or Seawards?
It is possible to draw distinctions between the Nordic pension systems on the basis of geography and history. Denmark, Norway and Iceland have tended towards the sea,
representing the Anglo-Saxon influence, while Sweden and Finland have looked to the continent for the German influence. The paper examines how plausible such differentiation is in the case of Finnish pension policy.
