British author Richard Hawkins began writing fiction in 1999 as the springtime unfolded in that special year. A spontaneous and competitive episode brought about the writing that would become his first novel, Telephone Abuse, published in 2000. In this story an English misfit is forced onto a narrow road for survival - but the road widens and is adorned with a family and characters from the heart of his spiritual roots. The author began more writing for the Millennium winter of 1999/2000. Jesper, a Danish detective working in England, has little danger of an overt disgrace; but suddenly this is not enough, he must team up with a woman for the defeat of another couple - one that has made it through against the odds. The story became the author's second novel, published as Beyond the Weather Friends in 2001. Millennium Zip unites the two novels; side by side for comparison, humour and life.
