Bringing together poetry, song lyrics and autobiography,
'Prodigal Songs' presents insights into one man's life
experience to date. Not intended as a complete memoir,
the book nonetheless refers to some key moments and
events in the author's life, in an attempt to shed light on
the personal qualities that these reflect and, perhaps,
helped to cultivate.
Balancing the need to be rigorously honest with the
desire to avoid sensational confession or revelation,
'Prodigal Songs' explores a wide range of life-issues
including: memories of childhood; the impact of love;
the importance of family; the search for purpose and
meaning, and reflections on the human condition.
The autobiographical sections are designed also to set
some context for the poetry.
