From the esteemed collection of the Hartford History Center, the Hartford Historical Society at the Hartford Public Library has released ninety never-before-published views of Hartford from glass plate negatives of the early 1900s. These images of an era past - when transportation was by horse-drawn wagons and early automobiles - are presented alongside modern photos by award-winning photographer Andy Hart. Some buildings and landscapes will at once appear familiar and unchanged, while others have been forever altered. Historian Wilson H. Faude brought together and carefully researched the past images, sharing Hartford's fascinating history on each page. Wilson and Andy have donated their efforts to benefit the work of the Hartford History Center.
