Nordic Financial Market Law - The Regulation of Financial Services and Markets in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden
The regulation of financial services and markets within the EU has increased considerably since the European Commission issued its vision of a single financial market in its Action Plan in 1999. This text provides an overview of the regulation within this area in the five Nordic countries. After presenting the legal background of the EU and the EEA and the harmonization at that level, the regulation of each of the five countries is described by a national expert. The description focuses on the overall regulation ofmarkets, players and supervision; listing; corporate governance; disclosure; market abuse; and takeovers. A final chapter is devoted to the co-operation of stock-exchanges in the NOREX alliance and of national supervision authorities within the Nordic countries and the EU/EEA.
