Apart from an Introduction, this publication contains a version of the text based on repeated analysis, together with a German translation on opposite pages. An index contains the entire Coptic vocabulary down to the smallest element. A great deal of space is devoted to the exegetical commentary, which explains the entire text sentence by sentence. This book is more detailed than the edition which is appeared as part of the BCNH (1977) and takes into account the current state of research which has grown up since the publication of M. W. Meyer's "Letter of Peter to Philip (1981).
