Instead of using love to dispel fear, many Christians are still using a few misunderstood references in Bible to justify their most irrational fears, encourage bigotry, and ultimately nullify the Gospel of Christ. The "Good News" is that God created every person equally in His image, and Jesus came to preach the Gospel to the poor and persecuted. I look at the scriptures in a manner consistent with this central Gospel theme - a message of love, tolerance, hope, and human equality. Using the same scriptures that some use to condemn homosexuals, I demonstrate not only how gays and lesbians have an equal claim on the Bible, but that the scriptures were written specifically for us.
