This book tells the dramatic story of Panzer Brigade 105, one of ten such units, and its formation, deployment, including its defence of the Siegfried Line.
The Siegfried Line was a defence system stretching more than 390 miles from the borders of the Netherlands to Switzerland and constituted of more than 18,000 bunkers, tunnels and tank traps. Much of the fighting took place in the Hurtgenwald area and later at the Battle of the Bulge. This offensive was one of the last attempts by Germany to change the tide of the war.
Referencing primary documents and interviews, Timm Haasler presents a fascinating insight into the Panzer Brigade 105. Within the book he also presents American accounts of what it was like to fight the brigade.
