I have called this book, 'The Long Afternoon' as a description of the good years most of my generation had from the 1950s until the end of the century. It is my belief that this fifty year period will be called 'The Golden Age' by historians, as long as they can forget and forgive the debts we left. This is a story of men and women from families, although damaged by two wars and the great depression between, made the best of the second half of the century, prospered and built good lives.
