Poems from Griffiths' previous collections re-appear here, some in revised form. Selections include poems about the poet's home town of Amlwch from his first collection, "Anglesey Material", love poems and poems of social conscience from "Civilised Airs", and elegies from "Uncontrollable Fields". Griffiths aims to push back the boundaries of his experience, opening new doors to insight and emotion. His language shifts from stark to sumptuous, his imagery is tempered by a keen irony and intelligence.
