The Bible is without doubt the most important book of humankind due to its circulation and impact. The Bible influences in a direct or indirect manner more than half of the people living today - Christians, Jews and Moslems. Grabner-Haider examines the Bible especially under cultural and historical aspects. The author focuses on cultural forms, social levels of society, relation of sex, system of government and cultural techniques, world views and moral orientation as perceived through the Bible.
