Based on over a decade of ethnographic work among the Naga rebels and movement zones, personal interviews, and secondary data, the author offers a compelling on-the-ground narrative of the Naga armed conflict, and explains how it has affected the daily lives of the Naga people. The book presents and analysis of narratives of people who have thought about the conflict, been born into it, taken part in it, or have been directly or indirectly influenced by it. It includes glimpses into their love for their land, the poignant mix of identity, politics, emotions, culture as well as the very real inter-ethnic differences that fuel the conflict.
