Pi(ankh)y was a mysterious Nubian ruler who emerged triumphant in Egypt during the Ramesside Period, and then disappeared again. This is a study of a long inscription that he left about his campaign in Egypt which helps not only to understand military and political developments at a fascinating time, but also to illuminate a curious personality.
