Pappy Plays is a glimpse into the meaningful relationship between a grandson and his grandfather. We see all of the special things the two share together, but eventually the relationship changes as the effects of Alzheimer's start to show in Pappy. Written from a child's perspective, this book is something that can simply communicate to children about the effects this disease has not only on Pappy, but everyone in his life as well. It shows how people with Alzheimer's just need a little bit of patience and the same amount, if not more, of love.
