This book is the outcome of a series of scholarly lectures given at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in 1984 to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Founding of Maryland. Each lecture focused on the importance of Maryland as a colony and state, showing the contribution Maryland made to the nation over three and one-half centuries.
