A homeless woman turns up in Mid Wales with a rucksack, with a nagging idea that she has lost something or someone. This is a novel of ideas presented as a sound-track which can be read as a shamanic journey, a quest for political enlightenment, a Pinteresque "psychological drama", a post-Freudian parable, and a sharp critique of Blair's Britain.
