Originally published in 1921, as part of the Cambridge Plain Texts series, this volume contains twenty pieces of prose writing by Italian critic and dramatist Gasparo Gozzi (1713–86). The pieces are all taken from the Gazzetta veneta, a bi-weekly commercial and literary paper created by Gozzi, which began publication in February 1760 and ended in January 1761. Selections are presented in Italian with a short editorial introduction in English. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in Gozzi and Italian literature.
