The book presents a New Zealand case study of new environmentalism to give a fresh perspective and original analytical framework to distinguish it from existing 'state of the environment' reports and books that review only selected environmental issues and management responses. The discussion is aimed at the university student market and will not aim to be a polemic or a book that seeks to allocate blame or that advocates any particular management strategies.
