An aging Bill Bentley leaves his farm for the last time in book six, after twenty-five years of virtual seclusion. Teaming up with his old bounty-hunting partner, Lucky, the two set out after Bill's old nemesis, Arthur Franks. Early in the hunt, a now middle-aged Dan Williams shows up to stop big Bill before he warps events in the time flow and rekindles an old love interest, both which would greatly skew the world as it now stands. Determined to live out his life as he pleases, Bill angrily locks horns with his nemesis, but Dan holds the cards while Bill holds only a colt revolver.
