Alex Winter’s (Bill & Ted’s movie franchises, The Lost Boys) assembly features appearances by Frank’s widow Gail Zappa and several of Frank’s musical collaborators including Mike Keneally, Ian Underwood, Steve Vai, Pamela Des Barres, Bunk Gardner, David Harrington, Scott Thunes, Ruth Underwood, Ray White and others.
Highlighting 21 songs from the documentary, there are 8 unreleased recordings from the Zappa archive along with his 1978 Saturday Night Live performance and 13 recordings from Zappa’s extensive recording career giving Zappa super-fans and newer-fans a sonic exploration into the musical brilliance that is Frank Zappa.
