Warner Classics is re-releasing this album from the French pianist Cyril Huvé. He was a disciple of Claudio Arrau, who declared that he saw him as one of his most gifted successors. He has also worked with György Cziffra. Huvé studied Philosophy at the same time as Music, and his liking for stylistic precision has led to a fascination with performance on earlier pianos. Cyril Huvé has notably also recorded piano music by Busoni (repackaged in the Erato Story Series in 2016), and the Trout Quintet by Schubert and the Quintet by Hummel with the ensemble Hausmusik (to be released digitally in October).
