Mastitis Handbook for the Dairy Practitioner
Containing notes on the various pathogens that cause the trouble, this is a veterinary handbook dealing with clinical mastitis and its definition and treatment. The book has an account of the effects of mastitis on the milk, how these effects are used to measure and monitor the disease, and milking machines and housing and their relationship with mastitis. Herd investigations and mastitis control are considered, and a questionnaire is included for farmers, with a vet's check-list of tests. Also included are notes which provide a method of assessing the benefits of mastitis control and a section on teat sores.
