This piece uses some melodic, rhythmic and harmonic materials from the late piano music of Albéniz as a starting point. Erkoreka exaggerates or simplifies certain aspects of the tradition of Spanish piano music, offering a renewed and personal vision by treating very differently the same materials that Albéniz used. Jaia means 'fiesta' in Basque.
