This piece, for pitched percussion, does not reflect Fauvism in an obvious way, but is more of an exploration within a restricted number of musical 'colours'. Contrasts of dynamics, register and rhythmic structures aim to translate into music the chromatic, yet subtle energy present in 'Fauvist' paintings.
