The second edition brings the reader up to date with changes to the IPA 1997 including changes introduced by the Integrated Planning and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2003. This legislation: replaces the original IPA regime for charging for infrastructure development amends IDAS to further streamline and simplify development assessment introduces new requirements for preliminary approvals amends designation procedures to enhance environmental impact assessment and public consultation, and introduces a new Chapter 5, Part 7A to provide a process for environmental impact statements.In addition, the second edition updates developing case law including a detailed discussion of cases on code and impact assessment under the IPA.
