The result is a blueprint for effective, democratic governance covering the Public Management II and III syllabuses of South African technikons. As South Africa has changed, so too have public administration and management. This work lays bare the immense synergistic potential of the natural, human, financial and other resources managed by institutions giving effect to state policy. The authors argue that healthy relationships forged in recent years through jointly managing national-resource exploitation, use and sustainability have led us to a moral imperative. In their assessment of our public institutions' immense potential to deliver, they reveal how good governance depends on sound management practices and ethics.
