Jian Jie: Dou Kan Zhang Ai Ling
When I read Mrs. Zhang using rice-sprout for rice-seedling, I was astonished. Through deeper examination, I found her other side cunning, poor in language and not very amenable to reason. With their anti-communist nature, Mrs. Zhang's two novels, written during her 3- year stay in Hong Kong, both in Chinese and English, exposed her ideology against the historical trend of China and her incapability of mastering basic knowledge in agriculture and country life.
