Teaching as Enhancing Human Effectiveness
This work highlights the idea that teaching and learning is not a matter of possessing skills, nor of being possessed by skills. Instead, human effectiveness, including teaching effectiveness, is the potent use of the individual's own self in which one combines one's own knowledge and sensitivity with one's own unique ways of putting it into operation so as to be helpful to others. The authors show that learning and teaching others to be human is a new way of being oneself.
