The discovery of a charming series of vintage 1940-41 embroidered Mother Goose nursery rhyme blocks, published in the Omaha (Nebraska) World Herald, inspired Donna di Natale to track down descendants of the creator, artist LaVerne Bartos. This book is the result.Donna and her friend Amy Ubben stitched a modern-day quilt of LaVerne's designs. They also used these charming embroidery designs to decorate an entire nursery. Some are whimsical, such as curtains and scrapbook covers. Some are very practical, such as a car seat carrier cover and a magic changing pad. Others are just fun, such as the Humpty Dumpty toy and Momma Goose Hold-all. Donna and Amy wrote careful, complete directions for making all these fun projects. Besides general and embroidery instructions, they also provide ideas you can use to incorporate the designs into your own projects.
