Published in conjunction with the October 2011 opening of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts' new Quebec and Canadian art galleries, housed in the Claire and Marc Bourgie Pavilion, this book provides a comprehensive reference on Canadian art, painting a vivid portrait of Quebec's colourful history and Canada's vast landscapes. Spanning three centuries, the book includes 60 thematic essays and features works by over 200 Canadian artists, including Antoine Plamondon, Theophile Hamel, members of the Group of Seven, the Beaver Hall Group, Inuit artists Kenojuak and Karoo Ashevak, and First Nations artists, including Norval Morrisseau.
