A New View - Architecture Photography from the National Museum in Berlin
The Photographic Collection of the Museum for Photography features hidden treasures from the collections of the State Museum in Berlin on the occasion of the re-opening of the Imperial Hall. Architectural photography has already been represented in many collections, with pictures from many cultures and periods including the architectural photographs of the classical buildings of modern times in the Art Library. These photographs, previously known only to scholars, specialists and scientists, represent an example of one of the most important genres of photography. This exhibition will encompass 400 items (photographs, portfolio works and books). In 18 chapters the catalogue shows the rich variety of the collections and presents an alternative, non-canonical history of architectural photography.
