This multimedia program provides EMS students, Basic through Paramedic, with the opportunity to develop their skills at identifying different heart and lung disorders through practice with audio samples. To make it even more practical, the heart and lung sounds are presented against background noises that EMTs typically encounter on the job. There are 34 heart sounds ranging from normal sounds and simple variations to Diastolic and Systolic Murmurs and 15 lung sounds ranging from normal to those obtained on lungs with fluid. Each sample is accompanied by text to explain what the student is hearing along with graphical illustrations to further enhance learning. A quiz allows students to see how well they can apply the information to unidentified heart and lung sounds. This program is the ideal accompaniment to any patient assessment course, cardiology, or airway course and provides training on listening skills against the background sounds they will encounter in the field.
