Bridge on the Adriatic Sea
Ponte sull'Adriatico is a vast Europe-wide transport infrastructure designed to serve the Mediterranean, which will qualify as the premier international hub for the exchange of goods in and out of Europe. Beside providing linkage between the two shores of the Adriatic Sea, the complex will comprise an imposing seaport terminal with quays to berth commercial container-ships and passenger liners, making use of the Bridge's integrated rail and motorway networks. The application of new construction techniques and a high degree of prefabricated structural components will ensure the bridge is completed rapidly and at reduced cost, while the performance and maintenance of the structure is guaranteed by renewable energy technology in various different forms stationed along the 120 kilometers of the project's structure.
