Between the Light and Darkness

Angels dance in the light
and demons slink in darkness
and between the two I balance
precariously, grasping for stability
and gasping for breath while
the world rushes by me.
Refusing to give in and fall,
to be tempted to let go
I battle daily to stay
here in this mortal realm
between the light and darkness.
