The outstanding Russian composer Vladimir Dashkevich is known especially as author of music for movies, including "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes", "Bumbarash", "The Winter Cherry", "The Heart of a Dog". He has composed also a number of works in concert genres - symphonies, concertos, sonatas, quartets, etc. This is the first publication of a large-scale chamber work by V. Dashkevich. For students of conservatoires and professional performers.Composer's NoteThe present work uses the original system of scale polarization invented by the composer. The 12-note scale is divided into two polar six-note units - the "own" one and the "foreign" one. The "own" scale uses the composer's musical "monogram" according to the German musical nomenclature, i. e. the notes D, A, Es (=E flat), С, H (=B), and E - all present in the surname DASHKEVICH. The "foreign" scale consists of the remaining notes: Des (=D flat), F, Fis (=F shaip), G, As (=A flat), and В (=B flat). Each theme undergoes deformation, passing through both the "own" and the "foreign" polar scales. The use of the scale polarization system is marked SIS, while its cancellation and change to the "normal" notation is marked N.
