A young woman begins for herself a new life. Once an employee of a major security contractor, she now cleans tiled floors and poster frames in the corridors of a shopping centre. We search the world seen through her eyes, for the connection, however tenuous, with the revolt that is taking place quietly in the forgotten corners of our world. Somewhere in the details of her life must lie the answers to the questions that confront us: How could the thing KMD have come into being? Where are the insurgents responsible for its distribution? Can they be stopped?
