The Informal sector accounts for a large percentage of employment in developing economies because of the lack of modern wages jobs and very high structural unemployment. If this sector is to help address the problems of poverty and unemployment, then it needs to become more productive and attitudes to its role need to change.
Small Business Training for Challenging Circumstances: Developing Entrepreneurs in the Informal Sector is an entry-level business program aimed at raising the skills level of entrepreneurship and other members of the informal economy who have not previously had access for formal business education.Educational elements covered, as identified by the World Bank, include emotional intelligence, cognitive skills and technical skills.
