Tia and her younger brother, Tag, have been forced to start over more than once since their mother abandoned them, a fact Tia still refuses to accept. She has to try so, so hard - not to talk back, not to break another set of rules, not to be her real, true, angry self. And while she's determined to reject her latest foster family, Tia can't help but be drawn in to her new life, especially once she discovers the nearby Ice Pony Ranch and Animal Rescue. But even though she loves working with the animals there, Tia refuses to give up on the idea of her mother coming back, and she'll do whatever it takes to make that happen, no matter what the cost.
