"The Snowbird Sniper" story developed while sitting in traffic one cool day in January. Those of us who live in Southwest Florida have daydreamed many times about doing exactly what the main character of the book does to Snowbirds, those northerners who come south during the winter. Although there have been no violent acts committed against our Northern friends on the west coast of Florida that the author is aware of, his imagination was able to capture and write this fantasy.
Vince Alexander is a successful commercial real estate broker who has a short time to live, due to a spreading cancer. He meticulously seeks out Midwesterners as his prey. Tired of the increased traffic and general attitudes of the winter visitors, he decides to make a name for himself as THE SNOWBIRD SNIPER.
He plans things so well, that he even provides for the families of the victims, and stays out of reach of law enforcement agencies during this sensational killing spree. His family and friends, including the woman he loves, and who loves him, have no idea of his other life. He finally confesses to a stunned Captain DiMarco, who had suspected him, but had not a shred of evidence.
Though the characters in this book are strictly fictional, with no relation to anyone living, some of the venues are real and have been used with permission.
