A Guide to Nature Study for the Use of Teachers
1902. Assisted by William Scott, John Dearness, and W.H. Elliott. The general purpose of the book is to set forth the true aim of Nature-study and thus to lay the foundation for correct methods in conducting it. In this it will be noted that emphasis is placed on the education of the child through his self activity and by and through the realities of nature. The Contents are divided into the following parts: Pedagogics of Nature Study; Life-Histories and Suggestive Lessons; and Suggestions for Teachers.
