Stewart Barclay is not convinced that he is mentally ill; much less a person who has attempted suicide. His body just doesn't show any sign of physical injury, miraculous for someone who is told that he has slashed his wrists. But despite his protests, Stewart is sent to a half-way house for the insane where he is confronted by dark, seemingly unnatural events that force him to distinguish what is reality from what is illusion. A mixture of science-fiction and psychological horror, The Arachne Experiment compels the reader to question his own psychological makeup. How can you be sure that you are completely sane?
