The aim of this work is to relate, in a manner close to the original, such of the myths as are more or less familiar to every educated Indian. The stories related here include a knowledge which is absolutely necessary for every foreigner who proposes to cooperate with the Indian people for the attainment of their desired ends. The Indian myths here retold include almost all of those which are commonly illustrated in Indian sculpture and painting. Illustrated.
