The present study is based on an analysis of the religious experiences of a large number of contemporary persons, most of whom were students in institutions of higher learning at the time the empirical data were secured. The records of this study constitute the largest collection of personal religious experiences ever brought together, and these records are a mine of data for the workers in the field.
