Where you spend your youth is an important part of your identity. Stapleford and Nottingham are where I come from, though I later worked overseas for many years.


In this book I look back fondly at the Stapleford of my great-grandfather, grandfather and father; and then on my own experience of the 1950s and 1960s.


What was our house like? How did we live in those days? Schools? Holidays? Sport? Work? Culture? Politics? Everyday life?


How was it to be growing up in those two wonderful decades of change for young people.
