The Roger Freeman Collection comprises of more than 15,000 photographs of the US Army Air Forces in Britain during the Second World War. At its peak strength in 1944, USAAF employed 450,000 Americans in Britain, and their impact was particualrly felt in the East of England. This book features some of the best images from this stunning collection, introducing the fighter pilots and bomber crews, the navigators and gunners, as well as the ground crew who ensured the aircraft kept flying.
