Religion and Science in the Context of Chinese Culture
Religion and science in the context of Chinese culture is indeed a complex and multifaceted dialogue. The approaches to the dialogue of each of the main religious traditions- Buddhism, Confucianism and Christainity, the folk traditions and Taosim-are different in each tradition. This volume represents a two dimensional dialogue. There is the dialogue between science and religion specific to each of the traditions and there is the second dimension of interreligious dialogue. Given this complexity it is not surprising that the points of contact amomg the authors are relatively few. While this is regretable, it is hoped that having laid the dimensions of the dialogue these papers can set the stage for future dialogue. Contributors include: Ted Peters of the USA, Vincent Shen and others from Taiwan.
