This second novel of the trilogy "El miedo y la fuerza" that began with "La agonia del dragon, tells the story of the generation that brought democracy to Spain. It begins with Franco's long agony to bring Spain to the anxious transition that culminated in the attempted coup d'etat in February 1981. The characters narrate the intense emotion of those years in which fear and hope were the heads and tails of the same coin and in which death became a protagonist in the lives of Spaniards.
